Phil Anderson Financial Services is proud to be supporting The BookBench Trail, a unique public art event set to transform the north-east, Orkney and Shetland into a vibrant, outdoor gallery during summer 2025. Organised by Clan Cancer Support, the trail will feature stunning open-book sculptures in towns and cities where the charity provides its invaluable services — and we are thrilled to be involved as both a bench sponsor and the official t-shirt sponsor for the event.
A Trail of Art and Meaning
A total of 41 BookBench sculptures, each creatively brought to life by some of the UK’s leading artists, will be placed across local communities for everyone to enjoy. These distinctive benches – shaped like open books – aim to inspire, uplift and invite reflection as part of a free public art trail that connects people through storytelling and support.
“We are absolutely delighted to bring this initiative back to Ellon after the amazing success of the Big Hop Trail two years ago,” said Phil Anderson, Managing Director of Phil Anderson Financial Services. “Clan Cancer Support is a cause close to our hearts, and we are incredibly proud to sponsor one of the benches and also provide the t-shirts for the trail. It’s a fantastic opportunity to promote creativity, community spirit and wellbeing across the region.”
Why the BookBench?
Clan chose the BookBench design to reflect its lifeline listening support service, which gives individuals affected by cancer a safe and compassionate space to open up and share their stories. The sculpture, large enough to seat two adults, symbolises connection and invites moments of reflection as trail-goers explore each piece of artwork.
Making a Difference
In addition to sponsoring a bench, our role as t-shirt sponsor ensures that volunteers, organisers and supporters will be easily recognisable and united in their support throughout the trail. It’s an honour to help give visibility and cohesion to such a meaningful event.
Once the trail concludes, the sculptures will be auctioned off to raise vital funds for Clan Cancer Support. These proceeds will help the charity reach even more individuals and families navigating a cancer diagnosis, ensuring they receive the care and understanding they deserve.
